On olemassa runsaasti kirjallisuutta, jossa tutkitaan musiikin erilaisia – positiivisia ja negatiivisia – rooleja sodassa. Tämä poikkitieteellinen artikkeli tuo uuden kontribuution tähän kirjallisuuteen ja laajemminkin musiikin sosiologian tutkimukseen painottamalla erityisesti resilienssiä. Resilienssiä koskevassa tutkimuksessa on enenevässä määrin siirrytty psykologiaan perustuvista henkilökeskeisistä lähestymistavoista kohti monitahoisempia relationaalisia ja monisysteemisiä lähestymistapoja, joissa käsite kytketään yksilöiden ja heidän sosiaalisen ekologiansa (ympäristönsä) väliseen vuorovaikutukseen. Edeltävässä tutkimuksessa on kuitenkin kiinnitetty vähän huomiota näiden ekologioiden aistimellisiin ulottuvuuksiin, mukaan lukien äänelliset ulottuvuudet. Tässä artikkelissa tarkastellaan Ukrainan sotaa analysoiden siihen liittyviä medialähteitä (muun muassa verkkovideoita). Artikkeli esittää, että musiikki voi sotatilanteissa olla resilienssin (ja vastarinnan) muoto ja ilmaus, jonka vaikutus liittyy suoraan akustiseen ekologiaan – käsitteeseen, josta on tähän mennessä keskusteltu lähinnä ekologian ja luonnonsuojelun tutkimuksen piirissä. Artikkelissa musiikki esitetään tarkemmin ottaen tietynlaisena äänimaisemointina, mikä tarkoittaa äänen ja hyvinvoinnin aktiivista yhteensovittamista.
