Abstrakti

Tutkimus käsittelee performatiivista palestiinalaisen vastarinnan hiphop-musiikin kautta tapahtuvaa viestintää keskittyen rodun, luokan, sosiaalisen sukupuolen ja seksuaalisuuden risteyskohtiin sekä kulttuuristen esityspaikkojen teoretisointiin (theorizing cultural sites of performance). Kirjoittaja esittelee neljä vastarinnan osa-aluetta palestiinalaisessa hiphop-musiikissa yhdistäen ne samalla omaan esittäjän ääneensä. Tavoitteena on luoda palestiinalaisten kanssa globaalia yhteyttä ja vuorovaikutusta performanssin kautta – elivätpä he sitten diasporassa tai Palestiinassa – sekä käsitellä samalla suurempia vallitsevia rakenteita.
